Project summary
- Focus: To document floral diversity patterns in Macaronesian region.
Macaronesia comprises the volcanic oceanic archipelagos of the Azores, Madeira, Salvage Islands, Canary Islands and Cape Verdes.
Macaronesian research in the Plant division is concerned with:
- documenting diversity patterns in the region’s flora
- testing hypotheses to explain those patterns
- using the Macaronesian flora as a model to explore more general questions in plant systematics and biogeography
