Your support makes a huge difference.
The Natural History Museum is a charity and relies on your support. No matter the size, every gift to the Museum is critical to our work in protecting the natural world.
The Museum's role now is more important than ever. Our scientists are unlocking answers to big issues facing humanity and the planet, and together, we can tackle these challenges.
Make your mark in the Museum's gardens
Whether you choose to sponsor a square metre of garden or have the name of a loved one engraved on a bench, any donation will have a lasting impact on the Museum gardens, all in support of urban nature.
Play your part in our vital research into climate change and biodiversity loss, helping us ensure the survival of our planet.
Help us to make natural science a part of everyone's lives, inspiring better choices for our planet.
Support our science
The Museum is a powerhouse of scientific enquiry and a voice of authority on the natural world. Our scientists carry out research that has global impact.
This work is now more important than ever. Natural resources are diminishing, the ecosystems we rely on are under stress, food sources are declining, and new diseases are emerging.
We need your help to continue our important research and help find solutions to the biggest problems facing humanity.
Protect our collections
Our Grade I listed building is home to the largest and most important collection of natural history specimens and the most extensive natural history library in the world.
The preservation of our 80 million specimens, books and building requires expert care and regular attention and is extremely costly.
Your support is vital to help us safeguard our iconic and internationally recognised collections for future generations.
Champion our outreach programmes
Our front-of-house staff are inspiring the next generation of scientists through world-class learning experiences.
Engaging society in scientific debate and fostering a better understanding of the origins of life, evolution, biodiversity and sustainability is at the heart of the Museum's mission.
We need your help to continue making science accessible and exciting for everyone.

Our charitable status
The Museum is a charity and your donations, however big or small, help to support the important work that we do.
As an exempt charity, the Museum is regulated by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. This means that while we are not registered with the Charity Commission, and don't have a Registered Charity Number, we are still a fully legally constituted charity. For further information please visit the Government Summary on Exempt Charity Status.
What is Gift Aid and how does it help us?
For every £1 donated with Gift Aid, the Museum gets an extra 25 pence from the government at no extra cost to you. Gift Aid is a tax relief allowing UK charitable organisations to reclaim an extra 25% in tax on every eligible donation made by a UK taxpayer. If you are a UK taxpayer don’t forget to let us know so we can claim Gift Aid on your donations, this additional income makes a big difference.
