Wild Trax: Birds and Dragonflies
Event type: Workshop, special event
Location: Wilstone Reservoir
Are you aged 14 - 18? Do you live in Buckinghamshire or Hertfordshire? Then come and join our Wild Trax event.
Join the Resevoir Reserves team and get a taste for how to identify and survey dragonflies and birds living at the Wilstone Reservoir. You’ll learn where to look and what to look for, as well as some basics of identification for these two charismatic groups.
Please wear walking boots or trainers and clothes you don't mind getting a bit wet or dirty.
Bookings are essential and no accompanying adults please. All participants must bring a completed parent/guardian consent form to take part in the event.
At this event, you’ll meet experts and learn new skills before having the opportunity to join Wild Trax to put your talents to the test. Design and complete a project of your own (in groups or individually) with our support. The subject of the project is up to you as long as it’s based in Tring or Aylesbury and benefits nature in some way.
As recognition and thanks for your time volunteering, you’ll receive an award. It’s a helpful way to show your skills and interests to universities and future employers, especially if you’re interested in working with the natural world.
Wild Trax is a new and exciting youth project run in partnership by Berks, Bucks, Oxon Wildlife Trust, Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust and the Natural History Museum at Tring, and is supported by the Rothschild Foundation.
