Explore our amazing Dinosaurs gallery and see Dippy before our Diplodocus heads on a UK tour.

Step into an incredible world of dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum and see Dippy in London one more time.

At the beginning of next year, our iconic Diplodocus will be leaving its current home in Hintze Hall to prepare for a tour of the UK.

Before Dippy goes, come and see all of your favourite dinosaurs together: from old favourites like our Diplodocus and roaring T. Rex, to newer additions like our feathered Deinonychus models and Sophie the Stegosaurus.

Explore dinosaurs' evolutionary past, discover the different time periods they lived in, and see our world-famous fossils and lifelike models. Sort the facts from the myths, and find out what our scientific research has taught us about these prehistoric giants.

Star specimens and exhibits:

  • Dippy, our iconic cast of a Diplodocus carnegii skeleton
  • Sophie, the most complete Stegosaurus ever discovered
  • an Iguanodon, one of the first species ever described as a dinosaur
  • a towering animatronic T. rex
  • our feathered Deinonychus models, reflecting the latest dinosaur research
  • Until 1 January 2017
