Remedial

Conservation Centre staff are highly experienced in the conservation of natural history, anthropology and ethnographic materials.

We have a world-wide reputation for the development of new techniques in stabilising, restoring and conserving Museum objects. This includes the development of new laser methods for cleaning the entire range of Museum specimens.

Specialist treatments include:

  • stabilisation of sub-fossil bone
  • pyrite treatment
  • cleaning and consolidation of inorganic and organic materials.

We adopt a holistic approach to specimen conservation, using both preventative and remedial techniques at the cutting edge of conservation technology.
