Evolution of sharks

We are studying a newly acquired complete specimen of the fossil shark Wodnika and comparing it with other known specimens to find new morphological characters. 

These will be used to:

  • study the relationships of this genus to other Palaeozoic and Mesozoic fossil sharks
  • to investigate how modern sharks may have evolved from them
