Muriel Dawson is best known as an illustrator of children's
books. Her prints of young children remain very popular, evoking
a sense of childhood innocence set in idyllic natural surroundings.
This bold drawing of Atlantic puffins (Fratercula arctica)
conveys Dawson's attention to detail combined with a sense
of the pure enjoyment she had observing the natural world.
