Redefining Fashion: Future Threads Workshop

Learn to upcycle old clothes and explore how we can speak up for the planet through fashion.

  • Fixing Our Broken Planet Gallery
  • Thursday 24 July, 18.30–20.00
  • Free, booking required

Does your wardrobe need a glow-up? Are you looking for ways to take action for the planet while learning a new skill? In this workshop, you’ll explore the impact of fast fashion and discover practical ways to advocate for the environment through your clothing choices.

London-born sustainable fashion designer Melissa Simon-Hartman will be in conversation with our scientist Krisztina Lohonya. Melissa’s work is inspired by her Trinidadian and Ghanaian heritage and has been featured on Beyoncé’s visual albums Black Is King and Renaissance.

Get inspired to give your clothes a new lease of life with fun, easy upcycling ideas and pick up clever tips and tricks to revitalise old favourites. As you create, we’ll chat about how fashion can help us care for the planet and explore how what you wear can be a form of climate action.
