Tring: Museum Highlights Tour

Explore the incredible history of the Museum, hear fascinating stories from its past and discover its most iconic specimens.

Tour our beautiful Victorian galleries and discover the extraordinary life of Walter Rothschild, who founded the Museum here at Tring.

From dressed fleas to giant southern elephant seals, Walter collected more than 4,000 animals for display. Discover the stories behind our most important and beloved specimens and learn how they ended up here in Tring. As your guide leads you through our galleries, they’ll regale you with the story of how Walter came to set up the Museum and delight you with anecdotes about our star specimens. Plus, you’ll have the chance to ask your own questions throughout.
