Accessibility information

  • This tour takes place outside in our gardens on a ramped route and is fully wheelchair accessible.
  • Let us know in advance if you require a hearing loop for this tour so your guide can have one ready for you.
  • There are no toilets outside the building. The nearest accessible toilets are at the back of Hintze Hall and at the Zoology Spirit Building in our West Wing. We also have a Changing Places toilet in our North Wing.
  • Let your guide know if you would like to use the available seating along the tour route.
  • Guide dogs are welcome at the Museum and on this tour. Water for them is available on request.

Visiting information

  • Your tour guide will meet you outside The Garden Kitchen in the Evolution Garden, there will be a sign pointing to this location.
  • The tour is an hour long.
  • This tour is delivered outdoors, so dress for the weather.
  • The event will begin promptly, we’re unable to let latecomers in after the event has started and can’t give refunds or exchanges to latecomers.
  • All ages are welcome but given the content of the tour, we recommend a minimum age of 7.
  • Every child needs a ticket.
  • Your tour ticket grants you access to the Museum up to one hour before your scheduled tour. If you plan to arrive earlier, you may need to get a general admission ticket or join the walk-in queue.
  • Entry to our paid exhibitions is not included in your tour ticket, these tickets must be bought separately.
  • Don’t forget to bring an electronic or printed copy of your ticket with you.
  • You may change your booking to an alternative date as long as you inform us at least 30 days before the date of your original booking. Alternative dates are subject to availability and must take place within one year of your original booking. A £10 administration fee will be charged per booking.
