Jurassic Oceans After Hours
Away from the daytime crowds, this exclusive event is your chance to meet some of the fiercest underwater predators to have ever lived. Learn from our scientists, explore our galleries or dance the night away at our family Dino Disco.
The deepest depths of the Jurassic oceans are staying open late, and this is your opportunity to meet the most ferocious predators to ever rule the seas.
You’ve not seen the Museum like this before! In this premium experience, you’ll not only get exclusive after-hours entry to our newest exhibition Jurassic Oceans: Monsters of the Deep, you’ll also get free entry to Wildlife Photographer of the Year. Plus, you’ll be able to explore our galleries without the usual daytime crowds. This includes our beloved Dinosaurs Gallery, meaning you can see Jurassic creatures from land as well as sea.
The night is also packed with exciting activities! Say hello to our light-up octopus and meet our super scientists who are ready to teach you all about megalodon teeth, fossil identification, octopuses, cephalopods and much, much more.
You can even bring your own fossils from home and have our scientists identify them for you. Now that’s what we call jaw -some!
Plus, if you fancy a bite to eat, there will be food and drink available to buy on the night. You might just see a hungry T. rex roaming the halls looking for a snack too. All this for just a little more than the price of a normal exhibition ticket.
Want to take the fun to new depths? Book our special after hours + Dino Disco for Kids and dance the night away from 19:00 to 21:00 next to Sophie our Stegosaurus.

If you’re unable to wait in queues for long periods, speak to our security staff and they’ll fast track your entry.
The nearest accessible toilet is on our Ground Floor at the back of Hintze Hall, under the stairs. We also have a Changing Places toilet on the Ground Floor of our North Wing.
Blue Badge parking spaces are available on request.

All ages are welcome, but the event is recommended for ages 6+ and their families.
Bookings are required. No refunds will be given.
The event will begin at 18:45 and we can’t allow entry after 20:30.
