Afternoon Tea and Tour

On this fabulous tour through our building and gardens we’ll show you our very best highlights. After the tour, you’ll get to enjoy a nature-themed afternoon tea in our magnificent members’ rooms.

Join us for a tour that brings to life our most loved specimens as well as hidden gems in our galleries. We’ll show you our best of the best, and after your tour, you’ll get to enjoy a delicious modern twist on a traditional British afternoon tea.

We’ll start by introducing you to Fern, the dazzling bronze Diplodocus that takes pride of place in our Evolution Garden. Then, we’ll move inside revealing why our showstopping blue whale is named Hope and why we keep so many of Charles Darwin’s pet pigeons.

Finally, enjoy our afternoon tea inspired by the natural world, which celebrates the very best of British seasonal produce. It includes an exciting array of sweet and savoury treats all with a nature-inspired twist and specially created by Benugo’s pastry chefs. Devour a dinosaur-footprint macaron, an Earth pot filled with raspberry and chocolate, delicious Earl Grey scones, a selection of loose-leaf teas and much more.
