A cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus). The cheetah has a top speed of up to 114 kilometres per hour but this can only be maintained for short distances of a few hundred metres. Discovery Room

We have made some changes to the Discovery Room due to our lift installation project. The room is now split over 2 levels:

Discovery Room – ground floor

Use the magnifying glasses to look at fossils, or use touch to identify skins, sponge and shells. There is also a range of natural history-related jigsaws and children's books available.

Discovery Room – first floor

The Find out about yourself activity sheet helps children investigate which eye they use most, whether they can twist or roll their tongues and how many beans they can hold in one hand.
