[=Blaviaster Lambert, 1920, p. 26, type species Temnaster grossouvrei Lambert, 1912; =Gualteria d\'Orbigny, 1853, p. 151 (nomen nul.); = Gualtiera Cotteau, 1886, p. 324 (nomen nul.); =Gaultieria Gregory, 1900, p. 323 (nomen nul.); = Bahariya Elbassyony, 2005, p. 321, type species Bahariya teetotumensis Elbassyony. ]

Diagnostic Features
  • Test ovate with weak anterior sulcus at ambitus; weakly convex lower surface, low-domed upper surface.
  • Apical disc ethmolytic with four gonopores; anterior of centre.
  • Anterior ambulacrum narrow and flush.
  • Paired ambulacra petaloid aborally and flush. Petals not strongly developed, weakly bowed and converging distally. Pore-pairs in anterior column of anterior petals rudimentary adapically. Perradial zone narrow.
  • Peristome large and just anterior of centre; D-shaped.
  • Labrum clearly elongate, but plating details unreported. Plastron fully tuberculate.
  • Periproct posterior.
  • Peripetalous fasciole passes through the distal part of the paired petals defining an inner and outer part.
  • Subanal fasciole present; bilobed.
  • No larger tubercles aborally except adjacent to the frontal ambulacrum.

Remarks
This taxon is easily recognized by having the peripetalous fasciole passing through the anterior and posterior petals, causing an obvious disruption in the size of the pore-pairs along the column. Lambert (1920) distinguished two forms, Gualtieria in which the basicoronal interambulacral plates were swollen, forming obvious protruberances surrounding the mouth, and Blaviaster, where such protruberances are absent.
