Brief history
Founded about 1750, now belongs to the University of Pisa. One of the oldest museums in the world. Born as "Gallery" at the end of '500 by Ferdinando I de' Medici, now it collects and exhibits over 400 years of history of natural science research of Pisa. Since 1986 it is housed in the premises of the Certosa di Pisa at Calci.
