Brief history

It used to collect animals and plants an accepted occupation of scientists and nature lovers. Also pastor Segers and other pioneers of the Ornithological Society founded in 1933, the Golden Oriole had a collection of stuffed birds, bellows and eggs. The bellows, simply prepared skins and feathers, were among others used as educational material for lectures. In 1963, the Kempen Bird Museum opened its doors. In 2001, the existing collection was expanded with a collection of stuffed birds and mammals from a private collector. The natural history collection of the Natuurpunt Museum now has more than 1000 pieces
