Summary

The Museum of Natural Sciences, on Via Cesare Beccaria, contains numerous collections of zoological and natural characteristics of the territory, with distinguished collections of butterflies, birds, fish fossils and minerals, among which are volcanic stones. You can see all the species which normally nest in Sicily and some extinct birds or those which are almost extinct in Sicily such as the Black Partridge, the Meadow Hen, the Sea-Gull, the Eagle-Owl, the Lammergeyer, the Sultun Chicken, the Green Woodpecker and the Black Woodpecker, the Bearded Tit.

Brief history

The Museo Civico di Scienze Naturali is located in a side of the raised-floor of the Institute "Santa Giovanna Antida".
