Summary

The Naumann Museum is the only museum in the world historical ornithology. The exposition shows among other things the history of book illustration, the history of the preparation of bird ringing and bird conservation worldwide.

Brief history

Founded by J. A. & J. F. Naumann, acquired by August Herzog von Anhalt-Köthen in 1821, with J. F. Nauma as first director, later on succeeded by Edmund Naumann.
