Diagnostic Features	Test elongate and undercut at the posterior; no anterior sulcus Apical disc eccentric to the anterior; four gonopores opening very close together Anterior ambulacrum in a narrow, slightly indented groove adapically; pores minute Paired petals long and relatively narrow; the anterior pair almost transversely oriented Peristome very close to the anterior border Periproct at the summit of the posterior face and overarched Peripetalous fasciole present; narrow. Other fascioles not reported (preservation poor)

Type	Macropneustes integer de Loriol, 1891, p. 15 by original designation.
Species Included	Only the type species.
Classification and/or Status	Irregularia, Spatangoida, ?Macropneustidae Monotypic
Remarks	Fischer (1966) tentatively placed this genus in the Toxasteridae as only a peripetlous fasciole was recorded. However, as noted in the original description de Loriol was unable to tell if there were other fascioles from his specimen.
