Diagnostic Features
  • Periproct trigonal and weakly to strongly oblique; supramarginal in position; well separated from the apical disc.
  • Apical disc with four genital plates, genital plate 2 elongate and extending to the posterior separating the posterior genital and ocular plates.
  • Ambulacra with trigeminate plate compounding on the oral surface and simple plating aborally.
Distribution Mid Cretaceous (Cenomanian) of Palestine.
Name gender masculine
Type Pseudopileus zumoffeni de Loriol, 1901, by monotypy (=Anorthopygus orbicularis Grateloup, 1836).
Species Included Only the type species.
Classification and/or Status Holectypoida, Pygasterina, Anorthopygidae.

Subjective junior synonym of Anorthopygus Cotteau, 1869.
Remarks Based on an internal mould only.
