I´ve just joined this forum as I´ve been improving my id skills over the summer but I still find lots of specimens that just puzzle me.
I´ve found these little guys living on a semi-aquatic environment (mink raft) in Perthshire. After having only a glimpse I thought they were some kind of larvae but after a closer look I realised they have fairly long antennae. I took one to get a better idea of a few details under a pretty rudimentary microscope and I can confirm they do have antennae. Also they are a bit hairy (pretty much like most insects) and their abdomen is all red underneath, looking segmented at the top (don´t remember how many segments though). The eyes were black (maybe because it took me a couple of days after I caught it to get some time to take a look under the microscope) and their prothorax is all black and resembles a bit Hemiptera species. Don´t mind right now if it had any protuberances or characteristic patterns.
I´ve been seeing them for a while now, probably mid July until now (October).
