I found this in my rubbish bin outside .
It's web was really strong and she was all wrapped up inside the web .
I'm guessing female due to the large bottom !
It's one of our native species of false widow. I'm never any good at distinguishing these two, but I think it's either a Steatoda bipuncata (rabbit hutch spider) or a Steatoda grossa

I think having just read description it's the grossa one . It had a creamy ring around the outside .

I wouldn't rule out a gravid S. nobilis either. Their webs in which they deposit an egg sac, which they tend for a couple of months, are immensly strong.
