I have a plant growing on my garden, I think it came in with some topsoil I bought. It is growing 6 or 7 feet tall but that may be because it is growing between a tree and a trellis and needs to be tall to get to the light. I have no idea what it is or where it came from, I have attached some photos in the hope that someone can help me.
As you can see in the photos the flowers start as small white flowers and develop into hanging spikes of deep pink flowers. The deep ping flowers have now turned into very dark reddy brown berries. The leaves look a bit Ivy-like but it is not a climber.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
I have one of these in my garden and I have always called it Flowering Nutmeg, buty I understand that they are also known as Himalayan honeysuckle, Leycesteria formosa - but perhaps a botanist can confirm.
Thanks, that is what it is, no idea where it came from but it is very decorative so I am glad it is there.
