One found inside, the other outside - both by the back door. Also found what seems like a few babies but couldn't grab a photo of those. Any ideas? Thanks.
The first photo is likely to be an Amaurobius species (A. similis, or A. fenestralis), AKA lace weaver. These are pretty common around the exterior and even in our homes.
Second photo is a little dark, but possibly a Mettellina species?
I have cropped and lightened the image - so yup, A Metellina and given where it seems to be hanging about I would suspect Metellina merianae
