Hi, found three of these in my bedroom now. More worrying is that two were in my bed! They are definitely not bed bugs, but some clarification would be appreciated! They are pale brown, they aren't shiny, and they are no more than 0.5 cm long.
I live in reading, uk
I am tempted to suggest biscuit beetle (Stegobuim paniceum), but they don't get bigger than 3mm; are you sure about your measurement? (And I am tempted to ask if you eat in bed!)
If 2-3mm is a possibility for your beetles, tobacco beetle (Lasioderma serricorne) is another candidate
That's considering common domestic beetles.
But if there's a chance they could be coming in from outside (some are attracted to light), there are other species.
I don't eat in bed but I live in student accommodation and it wasn't particularly clean when we moved in. I have since cleaned and hoovered but will be cleaning all over again! Bugs make my skin crawl!
I would say the bug was 3mm and looks most like the first beetle.
