Is this a wildcat?

We came across this partially decomposed body on Ashdown Forest but can't decide what it is. It is larger than a domestic cat and has very long back legs. Can anyone positively identify it?

    HI Brenda,

I am sure it is a cat but cannot see why it may be a Wildcat, the overall coloration seems to be grey with no sign of any stripes whereas a Wildcat would be much browner with distinct black stripes. The length of the legs always seems to be more accentuated when an animal is dead due to the faster decomposition and contraction of the body. Hope this is of some use.
