The last few years, a large new land nearby Hoek van Holland (Maasvlakte 2) has been formed by suppletion of sand from a location 9 miles outof the Dutch coast. Beside fossils from Late-Pleistocene, we found several fossils which are much older and presumably from the jurassic period.
Pictures of some fossils are attached.
Can anyone identify these fossils and there most like geological location (Englisch coast or French coast).
Dr. Ian West looked at the fossils but it was very difficult to named the fosills. very interesting is the smal Rhynchonellid brachiopod with few ribs.
