Fossilised Shark tooth found on Southend Beach

Hi there,

I found this tooth on Southend beach a couple of years ago, and would love to know more about it. Does anybody know whether or not this tooth is from a shark or a fish?

It's a worn shark tooth almost certainly derived from the London Clay so with an approximate age of 50 million years old.

Considering the number of people who go to Southend beach and the scarcity of these at that location its a good find!

    Regards,
