Can anyone help please?

Hi all,

I found this creature on my bedroom carpet and am freaking out!   I was just wondering if anyone knew what it is?  It is about an inch and a bit long, has 6 legs at the front.

I did a bit of research but I really have no clue what it could be.  I want to identify it before I find it a new home.  I have hoovered the room, but want to rule out any egg laying or anything!

Thank you in advance

This is the larva of a Mealworm beetle, the larvae themselves being the mealworms. Almost certainly the species Tenebrio molitor. When found in homes they are usually associated with bread that birds have dropped down chimneys or in abandoned birds nests. No eggs will be laid as it is a larva. Ensuing adults, females at least, will lay eggs on a suitable food resource. Look out for more - and feed to the Robin in the garden, every garden has one.
