    What a great picture!  Where did you get it?  It certainly looks like a tame baby porcupine, though no idea of species.

    This looks like on of my favourite beasties - the South American Tree Porcupine (Coendou prehensilis).  gerald Durrell wrote a very funny commentary on the behaviour of one of these in one of his South American based travel books (likening it's nose to W.C.Fields) and I have admired them ever since.
