Please could you tell me what this is? We have hundreds of them on the white surfaces in our bathroom.  I am presuming baby spiders.  Photos are 400 times magnification.   How do I go about removing them?

  These are not baby spiders I am afraid, they are mites, and look to be bird mites. I suspect that you have an abandoned bird or mammal nest in your loft space above your bathroom that is the source of these. They can bite and are likely to be a bit of a problem if you have them in such numbers.

  Thanks for your reply.  I presume I keep wiping them up and vacuuming if I can't find the source bird/nest?  Numbers have diminshed over the last few days.
