Naturally formed metal or not?

I found this in a pile of crushed concrete some years ago and it has always puzzled me, i sent pictures of this to Dr. Robin Armstong, he believes (from the pictures i sent) that the morphology of the object is the result of impact from the crusher. With the highest respect for Dr. Armstrong here is my problem:

What would a solid non-ferrous metal be doing in concrete (except being dredged or dug with the aggregate)

How would an object so small be able to sustain so many strikes by the crusher over its entire surface.

I intend to send this to the museum for further analysis but would be interested to know if anyone has seen anything similar018.JPG
