hide detailed image description

View of a tree, with details of the inflorescence and a single flower or seed drawn at natural size. The lower half of the sheet contains a view of the whole tree, standing on green ground. The tree has a tall slender trunk which is brown-grey in colour overlaid with black lines. The foliage is represented as clumps at the ends of the branches, by layers of horizontal marks in shades of green and red, with some yellow on the right hand side. The detail of the inflorescence above has one leaf composed of three lanceolate leaflets with serrated margins, the upper surfaces of which are dark green overlaid with a network of darker veins, while the under surfaces are white overlaid with a grey network. The flowers borne on branching stems are deep pink with yellow centres and red stamens. At centre there is a detail of an individual flower. The drawing is annotated in brown-grey ink.
