Bird in profile, facing to the left. It is depicted standing on a grassy bank, with water to the left and islands on the horizon, against a pale blue sky. The bird has a pale blue serrated bill, with the colour extending into a patch around the eye. Its body is predominantly white overlaid with pale ochre and grey hatched lines, with black wing tips. The drawing is framed by a pencil border and annotated in ink and pencil.
