Bird in profile, facing to the left. It is depicted standing on a green and grey mound, in front of water and distant islands. The bird's head and neck are white, with black spots underneath. The breast and belly are white with feathers heavily outlined in black, creating a diamond pattern. The back is purple and the wing green with black tips, all overlaid with black hatched lines. There is a scale drawn in ink and wash at the bottom of the drawing to the ratio of 10.4 cm. = 1 foot. The drawing is annotated in ink and pencil, and framed by a pencil border at the top and sides.
