hide detailed image description

Bird in profile, facing to the left. It is depicted standing on a rock painted in shades of brown, pink and grey, with water in the foreground and rocky cliff faces in the background. The bird is quite stumpy but has a long bill. It is painted predominantly in shades of brown, though paler and tending towards grey on the underparts, with a white patch on the wing and a chestnut stripe from the back of the eye down the side of the neck. The drawing is framed by a pencil border and annotated in ink and pencil.
