Anton and his father hired a hide for a day in Suomussalmi, Finland, hoping to see brown bears.
They arrived at the hide in the evening, just as a storm whipped up. But by dawn, the pond in front of the hide was as still as glass, and the rain had stopped. They had put dog food on the other side of the water as bait, and they didn't have to wait long for a visitor. At 4.30am, a bear came out of the forest and stood right by the pond. 'I like bears a lot, and when I got the picture I wanted, in a really nice place, with the reflection, I was very happy,' says Anton.

Anton spends as much time outdoors in nature as his studies allow. He enjoys trekking and mountain biking as well as searching for subjects to photograph. His motivation for taking pictures is to share with other people all the fantastic things he sees. He is keen to take more pictures that reveal nature in new ways.
Help us harness the power of photography to advance scientific knowledge, spread awareness of important issues and nurture a global love for nature.
