Mynas cooling off

Sander Broström's Image

Photographically, things didn't look promising.

The midday sun was beating down on the fields near Dubai City in the United Arab Emirates, and the light was just too intense. 'It was so hot that I had to drink constantly,' remembers Sander. Looking around for inspiration, he spotted a mobile irrigation plant at work away in the fields, drenching the ground with water. What caught his attention were the hundreds of birds flying around the machine, including a lot of bank mynas. As he approached, he could see that, like him, 'the birds were also really hot and needed to cool off and get a drink.' Then he saw it - in black and white - the graphic combination of machine, mynas and mist.
