| Description | This series contains all the documentation sent into, and compiled by, the Anti-Locust Research Centre and its successor and related organisations detailing locust sightings, activities and movements. This series contains the registers and indexes to the locust reports, and the locust report forms themselves. The registers and indexes record the locust reports received by the organisations and there are separate for some of the different locust species. The Locust reports comprise forms and associated documents including cables/telegrams, correspondence, newspaper cuttings. The reports are sequentially numbered for each country/organisation, and the countries /organisations are then arranged alphabetically. Most of the countries and organisations have a designated reference number given after the name.
Note: In addition to the report forms listed for each country (ref nos. AL/2/2-AL/2/226), desert locust report forms and occurrence data for many of these countries for the period 1985-1989 can be found in drawers 2-4 of the brown filing cabinet in the map room. The report forms and papers in drawer 1 relate to the desert locust plague study T0188 and the upsurge study TO429: see Southern Circuit Study TO429 in green box no. 196. |
