DescriptionCharacteristic Animals of Nepaul (Hindoostan). 1 proof print on card with handwritten labels stuck above and below the print. The title "Characteristic Animals of Nepaul (Hindoostan)" is given above and below is written "Helietis Nepalensis (Weasel family), Panada, Ibis-billed Curlew and Horned Tragopan Pheasant." The scene depicts the listed birds in a mountainous area with trees, ferns, grass and water. In the bottom left f/g is a Helietis Nepalensis (Weasel family could be Siberian weasel?) and above the Weasel on higher ground is a Red Panda. To the right, across the water in the f/g is a Ibis-billed Curlew. Above the Curlew on a large tree branch is a Horned Tragopan Pheasant looking down at the Curlew. This illustration is Plate VII in vol 1 of The Geographical Distribution of Animals by A R Wallace, on page 331, publshed 1876. Illustrations by Johann Zwecker.
