DescriptionA R Wallace's notes and memoranda. 1 black leather notebook with lined paper. Pages numbered in pencil at top right hand corner by Wallace on one half and in top left hand corner on other half of the book. This has been used tete beche so that half of the notebook contains notes, lists and poems mainly on spiritualism and the other half notes, and lists to do with gardening at Nutwood Cottage and Corfe View.
Spiritualism - first section contains poems and extracts from writings of ther people. Then Wallace lists a number of converts to Spiritualism. From page 34 -115 he lists dates and details of seances he attended.
Gardening - Firstly writes about plants at Nutwood, then from pages 6-12 are notes on his children - Bertie, Violet Elizabeth and William Greenell. From page 13 -14 more gardening notes. At page 15 begins a numbered list of plant species with columns describing name, family, flowering season, description, habitat and how obtained. This continues until page 141. On page 139 is a label stating the move to Parkstone. The rest details people he obtained plants from, including Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
