Description | A much honoured nonagenarian: Alfred Russel Wallace. Article in The Sphere on November 15, 1913 on page 163. Large black & white portrait of Alfred Russel Wallace sitting in chair facing camera. Photograph taken in 1895 by the London Steeoscopic Company and first published in Borderlands 3 1895. In the bottom left hand corner "Wm H Ward & Co". There are biographical notes underneath the portait. On the reverse is an articel on Mexico. The second page is also from The sphere of the same date but page 157. This article shows the silver medallion of Wallace created by Albert Bruce-Joy, gives brief biographical details and points to the main article on page 163. On the reverse are articles on Lord Gladstone's tour in South Africa and Prince and Princess Arthur of Connaught on tour. Notes: 28 x 22 cm on 38 x 24 cm and 6.5 x 8 on 43 x 29.5 cm.
