| Description | Alfred Russel Wallace in his study at Corfe View, Parkstone. Black and white photographic print, undated. in the middle of an article in The Book Monthly. Wallace is sitting at his desk, facing left, but turning his face towards the camera. He is holding a pen in his right hand as if in the middle of writing. There are a number of open books on his desk and shelves of books behind him. Under the picture is the caption "A fine, characteristic picture of Dr. Alfred Russel Wallace at work in his library. It is from a photograph by Miss Chant of The Studio, Parkstone, Dorset, who has a series." It is taken from the photograph depicted in WP/2/1/29.
