Description | Notes on letters on Astronomy in newspapers. Pen and ink handwritten notes by Wallace on comments made in letters printed in newspapers regarding Wallace's theories on astronomy. Quotes from letters in the Morning Post, Aberdeen Free Press and the Daily Chronicle. He is annoyed that he is accused of speculation and of not being impartial. Envelope has "Chapman & Hall. Ltd, 11, henrietta Street, Covent Garden, W C" printed in the top left hand corner, and "Offices of the Fortnightly Review" printed in the top right hand corner. It has a penny stamp also in the right hand corner - Dec 21 03. Alfred Russel Wallace, Broadstone, Wimbourne, Dorset is written on the envelope and across this is written in blue "L Oliver Ladies?"
