Notes: Dates based on when Harry Furniss began working for 'Punch' (the 1880's) and the date of publication of Scherren, Henry. 1905. 'The Zoological Society of London: A Sketch of Its Foundation ...', an illustration from which is on the back of the cartoon. Found when listed in a Large envelope labelled [in Richard Wallace's hand] 'Illustrations of Palm trees' containing printed illustrations of palm trees and an undated and unnamed watercolour of azaleas.
