| Description | Black and white photographic print approximately 9.5 cm x 7.5 cm showing a wooded or grassy bluff with a distant flat-topped cliff or mesa in the background and grassy hilltop and pyramid-shaped rock in the foreground. A man wearing a cap is just visible near the rock to the viewer's right. This is a closer view of part of the scene shown in the photograph of 'upper lake' (WP17/8/7). An outline sketch of the scene is in pencil on the back with features marked in Alfred Russel Wallace's? hand 'Erratic' 'Moraine' 'up Lake' 'Dam' 'between Upper & Lower Lough Bray co. Wicklow.' [Ireland] Undated. Possibly c. 1893, when Alfred Russel Wallace was writing on glaciation (See WP1/2/39, letter to Violet Wallace 8 October 1893). Photographer unknown.
