Description | Stamped envelope, postmark year illegible [1906], addressed to Alfred Russel Wallace at Broadstone, labelled on the back [in William Greenell Wallace's hand] 'Skertchley [sic] - Letters Criticisms &c &c' and on the front and back, crossed out, 'Hamer & co, Welsh Mutton &c Bills'; when listed this contained some of the Skertchly letters, an apparently unrelated printed review of Alfred Russel Wallace's 'Darwinism…' by J A Thomson and a reprint of a letter by Alfred Russel Wallace c. 1867 on the feeding habits of birds and caterpillars. |
