Activity	In 1939 MacNulty joined the War Office working in the research and develoment of explosives. During 1952 and 1958 he was posted to Nigeria and made an extensive collection of West African insects, especially Lepidoptera. He was Secretary and then President of the British Entomological and Natural History Society 1961 - 1968 and 1970. He was also Vice President of the Raven Society from 1948 - 1950. From 1984 he lived in Rhossili and worked on a list of the moths of the Gower Peninsula.
