ActivityMuseum Staff: Department of Zoology appointed Assistant Keeper (2nd class) Crustacea Section Nov 1928; promoted to First Class Assistant Keeper 1936; she waas responsible for the whole crustacea section until 1937 when J.P. Harding was apppointed. Retired 1966. Following her retirement she retained a room in the crustacea section and continued to work in the museum until about 1971.

Educated at Keith Grammar School. Entered Aberdeen University 1918 and became student demonstrator and later senior demonstrator in practical zoology, Achieved her BSc 1922. PhD Imperial College 1926; Yale University 1926-1928 under Commonwealth Fund Scholarship; DSc Aberdeen University 1928.

1960 was member of the editorial board of Crustaceana. Fellow of the Linnean society and council member from 1950 - 1953 and member of its curatorial committee until her resignation in 1981. Fellow of the Zoological Society of London. She also attended meetings of the British Association for the Advancement of Science and the International Congress of Zoology.
In 1961 she visited Japan as part of the 60th anniversary celebrations for the Emperor of Japan, during her visit there was made an honorary founder member of the Carcinological Society of Japan.
5th November 1961 she received the Order of the British Empire.
