ActivityMuseum Staff: He joined the staff of the herbarium at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in 1925. In July 1927 he transferred to the Department of Botany at South Kensington. He and W. Law moved to Tring during the war when bomb and water damaged botanical specimens were sent to Tring Museum. He became Officer in Charge at Tring following the death of J.R. Norman in 1944 and was replaced in November 1948 by Miss Dorothea M.A. Bate when he returned to South Kensington. He was Keeper of the Department of Botany there from 1956 until his retirement in 1966. He was Officer in Charge of Tring from 1955 until 30 September 1968 (after he retired) He continued his work on botany at Tring Museum until at least June 1976 occupying what is now Gallery 2 above the shop.
